Theatrical contact lenses can come in any of a number of styles. In fact theatrical contact lenses have such a broad demand now that they can come in just about any variety imaginable. Some of the best theatrical contact lenses are the ones that truly make your eyes stand out on stage when you’re playing the part of a vampire or goblin.
You should check with your physician before you determine for certain whether you should accept a part in a theater performance that would require you to wear theatrical contact lenses. These lenses can cause problems with eyes, especially if you’re not used to wearing special contact like these.

One of the problems that can develop with eyes is watching too much television. While it’s often said half-jokingly that watching too much television may permanently damage the brain, there is no scientific evidence that it will do the same to your eyes. But just like with other closeup work, you can develop eyestrain if you don’t watch television properly.
Make sure that you have a clear and sharp picture on your television. Make sure the picture isn’t vibrating much or jumping around. You should also try to steer clear of sleeping with the television on. Yes, you may enjoy having the soft light on in your bedroom when you fall asleep, but you may be more comfortable if you use other lighting. Glare from a television is another of the most common causes of eyestrain.

Also, making sure that your television isn’t too close to your face is another area of concern for eyestrain. You should be sure to be aware of your own vision needs. The closer you sit to your television the harder your eye muscles will have to work to focus on the screen. So you might want to invest in a larger television, so you can sit farther away from the screen. Another concern about sitting too close to your television is seeing too much. All the distortions and interference become more obvious and aggravating when you’re close up.
Theatrical contact lenses can be a nice, important part to your theater costume. But your health is more important, so be sure you check to make sure your eyes can handle the theatrical contact lenses before you put them in. And if you do use them, don’t wear them to the after party and all night after your performance or all day before your performance. To protect your eyes, you want to make sure you limit your usage of your theatrical contact lens.
