Crazy Contact Lens

You’re looking at using a pair of crazy contact lenses! How fun! But are they good and healthy for your eyes? Crazy contact lenses are no different than any other kind of cosmetic contact lenses. Crazy contact lenses should be worn pursuant to their instructions and to the instructions of your physician.

There are some ways to keep your eyes healthy. If you live in a dry climate, use a humidifier. The dryness can bother your eyes as well as your sinuses. If you go swimming at your neighborhood pool—or in any pool that is chlorinated—put on your swim goggles before you jump in.

If you work with a computer, be sure to take short breaks every hour or so to rest your eyes. You might also want to spend a few minutes on your breaks with your eyes closed and your feet up to keep your eyes as healthy as possible. If you fly, be sure to sit in the nonsmoking section and don’t aim the air conditioning nozzle right at your face. Drinking plenty of fluids can keep you and your eyes well hydrated.

If you do close work, pick something far away to focus on occasionally to relax your eye muscles. When you’re reading or doing close work, make sure you have enough light to let you see comfortably. Make sure that it’s aimed at what you are looking at and that none of it is reflected back into your eyes to cause glare.

Be sure to keep a good pair of sunglasses with your for times when the sun gets too bright or the wind blows too hard. Sunglasses can keep dirt and dust from blowing into your eyes and protect them from bright lights and ultraviolet radiation. And if your eyes ever feel irritated, close them for awhile and place a warm or cool washcloth over them.

If you decide you’d like to use an eye drop to heal your eyes, consider using one with artificial tears. They can be purchased at just about any drug store and can be used as frequently as you’d like. Crazy contact lenses can be great fun, but you want to make sure you keep your eyes as healthy as possible. Consult your doctor before you buy any kind of crazy contact lenses, to make sure your eyes are healthy enough to have crazy contact lenses in them!
